Why Do I Prefer Junk Foods So Much?
Except few health-conscious people, most of us love to have junk foods, even when we are quite aware of the fact that junk foods do not contain any nutritional value. Junk foods are tasty and it is tough for parents to hold their children from not having it, yet the parents sometimes realize how badly junk foods can affect their children.

Who Coined the Term?
It was Michael Jacobson (1972), who coined the term ‘junk’ as a slang to define useless or nutritionally valueless foods. These foods have high sodium salt concentrates along with bad fat and sugar that fuel the excess calorie accumulation process. So, if you are serious about diet for good health, you can not opt for junk foods. However, there are some brands that claim to offer nutritional junk foods these days.
What Make Junk Foods So Appealing?
Junk foods are easy to prepare, to consume and nonetheless to say, the taste is simply great. The list is truly vast, ranging from pizza to potato chips, chocolates to burgers and many more. There are many people who are addicted over junk foods. They are simple to consume. Most of these junk foods are served as ready to eat after you bought the packet.
People who work for late night tend to have junk foods, especially at the odd time. This practice significantly harms their health. Living alone or studying outside can also make a person to become over-dependent on junk foods, since there is no need to prepare the food, but to consume them directly without the need for cooking.
The taste also matters a lot. Even when you prepare a healthy food at home, it will never become tastier than a junk food (exceptions are not counted here). The great taste of junk foods is of course a strong influencer for one to decide about choosing junk foods frequently.
Advertising Effect over Junk Foods
Our advertising media has a strong influence over our consumer mind and needless to say, junk foods take the maximum advantage of advertising media to aim their goal to sellout their junk products. Be it a product like fried potato or cold drinks, all are popularized by advertisements.
Consuming junk foods is like curse to human health, posing a serious threat for developing high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity and even cancer at the worst. So be alert and develop a mass awareness against junk foods.
